Taj Hotel, Mumbai Airport Receive Bomb Threat, Cops Say Nothing Suspicious Found, Caller Traced To UP

New Delhi: Mumbai Police on Monday received a distressing call alerting them to alleged bombs planted at the Taj Hotel and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Swiftly responding to the threat, authorities conducted thorough searches at both locations. However, no signs of suspicious devices were discovered. The origin of the call was traced back to Uttar Pradesh, prompting a concerted effort to locate the caller.

Bomb Threats Received By Delhi University’s Lady Shri Ram, Venkateswara College

The Delhi Fire Service on May 23 said that Delhi Univeristy’s colleges, Lady Shri Ram College and Sri Venkateswara College received bomb threat calls, news agency ANI reported. The authorities are on-site to address the situation.

“Calls were received regarding bomb threats at Lady Shri Ram College and Sri Venkateswara College. Fire tenders, Delhi police at the spot,” the Delhi Fire Service said. 

Following the bomb threat incident, the University Hostel for Women issued a notice, announcing the closure of the hostel main gate for guests on the direction of the Proctor, University of Delhi. The notice stated, “All residents of University Hostel for Women are hereby informed that the hostel main gate will remain closed for the guests as per the direction of the Proctor, University of Delhi, due to news of a bomb threat in the University.

The gate will be open as the situation returns to normal.” This incident comes in the wake of a hoax threat received by the Union Home Ministry office the previous day. These threats targeting educational institutions and government offices add to a series of similar incidents witnessed in Delhi-NCR recently.
