Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid In New York Rain, Viral Video: India captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid have a big challenge ahead of them as the Men in Blue head into the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Currentlly, the world’s number 1 T20I side has not won an ICC trophy since 2013 and even though the same captain and coach duo led India to a final in the ODI World Cup 2023 last year, this will be a different challenge altogether.

For starters, this is not a home event. The tournament is set to be played in the United States of America (USA) and the Caribbean islands. Currently, Team India is in New York and other than training, there is still some time left for the captain and coach to strategise how they will go about things in the marquee event. Both Rohit and Dravid were seen stuck in New York run and running towards their cab to avoid getting wet.

India, meanwhile, are set to begin their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against Ireland on June 5. They will play this match at the Nassau International Cricket Stadium in New York, the same venue where they meet arch-rivals Pakistan on June 9 (Sunday). Senior India batter Virat Kohli did not travel with the rest of the Indian teammates after requesting for a longer break from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after IPL 2024. He is likely to miss India’s only warm-up match against Bangladesh ahead of the competition.
