Prayagraj Businessman’s ‘Sweet Push’ With Rasmalai To Boost Voting Numbers In Phase 6: WATCH

Lok Sabha Polls Phase 6: As the voting got underway in the sixth phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections on Saturday, a sweets shop in the Civil Lines area of Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj served ‘Rasmalai’ free of cost to the people who cast vote. In a video shared by news agency ANI, the employees of the sweets shop were seen serving ‘Rasmalai’ to people who were showing their inked fingers.

In Prayagraj, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fielded Neeraj Tripathi, and the Congress fielded Ujjwal Rewati Raman Singh. A voter turnout of 37.23 percent was recorded till 1 pm in Uttar Pradesh where polling is underway in 14 constituencies in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

Polling began at 7 am and will go on till 6 pm. According to the Election Commission, Ambedkar Nagar recorded the maximum turnout of 41.59 percent till 1 pm, Basti 40.07 percent, Sultanpur 38.42 percent, Azamgarh 38.37 percent, Lalganj 38.12 percent, Domariaganj 37.64 percent and Sant Kabir Nagar 36.99 percent.

The turnout was 37.41 percent in Jaunpur, 37.36 percent in Machhlishahar, 36.74 percent in Shrawasti, 36.01 percent in Pratapgarh, 35.82 percent in Bhadohi, 34.06 percent in Allahabad and 33.05 percent in Phulpur. Uttar Pradesh sends the highest number of 80 MPs to the lower house. A total voter turnout of 49.20 percent was recorded across eight states and Union Territories (UTs).

According to the data on EC voter turnout app, West Bengal recorded the highest voter turnout with 70.19% and Uttar Pradesh saw lowest turnout 43.95%. The Lok Sabha elections are being held in seven phases across the country from April 19 to June 1. The counting of votes will be held on June 4.
