NIA attaches 6 properties of JeM terrorist in Pulwama | India News

SRINAGAR: The NIA Wednesday attached six immovable properties belonging to Asif Ahmed Malik, a top operative of the banned terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), in Mirpora village of Pulwama district.
The land parcels were attached on the orders of a special NIA court in Jammu under section 33 (1) of UAPA, in connection with a case related to transportation of terrorists who had sneaked into Kashmir from across the border, and seizure of arms and explosives from JeM operatives.
NIA investigations exposed a conspiracy by the accused to transport the infiltrated terrorists within the Kashmir Valley, provide them safe shelter, and help them plan and execute attacks on security forces/apparatus, a statement by the probe agency said.
Malik was arrested on Jan 31, 2020, and arms, ammunition and explosives were recovered from his possession. NIA had chargesheeted him on July 2, 2020, under various sections of IPC, UAPA, the Explosive Substances Act and the Indian Wireless Telegraphy Act. He is currently undergoing trial before the NIA court in Jammu.
NIA has so far attached 109 properties in Jammu and Kashmir under UAPA provisions, the statement added.
