JIND: Haryana’s khapland which has been considered the political capital of the state didn’t witness any mega event of any political party in this election probably after many elections. It is believed in Haryana’s politics that every political leader used to start their campaigning for their election from Jind district. But in this election no political party held any mega rally which have been addressed in other segments by prime minister Narendra Modi, union home minister Amit Shah, national president JP Nadda, defense minister Rajnath Singh, chief minister Pushkar Dhami from Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh’s minister Yogi Adityanath and many other national leaders held rallies in Haryana for BJP.
Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Jai Ram Ramesh and many other leaders for Congress attended events in Haryana but these leaders too avoided the hinterland. Jind district is part of three parliamentary constituencies including Sirsa, Hisar and Sonipat but no party held any mega rally in this election.
All bigwigs focused mainly Ambala, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Sonipat, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Mahendragarh to woo the voters on different issues. Congress focused on issues like unemployment, agniveer, farmers, women, youths, terming democracy in danger, threat on constitution and others whereas BJP seemed to woo voters in the name of Rama temple, abrogation of article 370 and reservation issues for OBC, SC and ST.
On the last day of campaigning prime minister Narendra Modi took charge for BJP by holding a mega rally in Mahendragarh whereas Priyanka Gandhi sought votes for Congress by addressing a mega rallies in Sirsa and Panipat districts and attacked on BJP farmers’ issues and urged people to vote on issues only to teach a lesson to BJP.
