NEW DELHI: Two terrorists were killed on Thursday as the Indian Army foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The operation, conducted jointly by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, was initiated based on specific intelligence inputs in the Amrohi, Tangdhar, and Kupwara areas on May 15, 2024, as per a statement from the official X handle of the army’s Chinar Corps.
During the ensuing search operation, security forces recovered two pistols, ammunition, and other war-like stores, indicating the nefarious intentions of the infiltrators.
The search operation remains ongoing in the area, with further updates awaited as the situation unfolds.
This development comes on the heels of the recent ‘Operation Redwani Payeen,’ where the Indian Army successfully neutralized three terrorists after a vigil spanning 40 hours. Launched in response to the ambush of an IAF vehicle that resulted in the loss of a senior Air Force officer’s life, the operation underscored the army’s relentless efforts to combat terrorism in the region.
