Southee has been fined by the ICC for breaking Article 2.2 of the Code of Conduct, which addresses the improper use of cricket equipment, clothing, ground equipment, or fixtures during international matches.

Tim Southee acknowledged his error and willingly accepted the penalty handed down by match referee David Boon.

As a result of a Level 1 offense, he received an official reprimand and had one demerit point added to his disciplinary record. This incident marks Southee’s first offense in the past 24 months, contributing to the leniency of the punishment imposed.
