Rajkummar Rao starrer ‘Srikanth’ based on the life of visually challenged MIT graduate businessman Srikanth Bolla is continuing its dream run at the box office even in the second week. After passing the Monday test, the film saw a minor drop in its collection on Tuesday, but the numbers were pretty much in the same range as its Monday collection.
The film in its first week, had earned Rs 17.85 crore and over the second weekend, it added another Rs 8.25 crore.On Monday, which was also election day in many centers across the country, the film managed to earn Rs 1.5 crore and on Tuesday, the collection dropped by only 30 % to collect Rs 1.20 crore, thus taking the total collection of the film to Rs 28.80 crore.
The film has been getting love not only from the audience, but also from Rajkummar’s peers and seniors like Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar. Taking to Instagram, Akshay wrote , “Nothing is impossible. ‘Srikanth’ is a must-watch! Thoroughly enjoyed the film. Rajkummar Rao bhai, it’s time to start giving acting classes. You are simply brilliant!” Srikanth has already beaten the lifetime collection of the actor’s past 4 films Bheed ( Rs 2.03 crore), Hit: The First Case ( Rs 9.29 crore), Badhaai Do ( Rs 20.62 crore) and Roohi ( Rs 23.25 crore) in less than two weeks at the box office.
Rajkummar is now in the midst of promoting his next film Mr and Mrs Mahi with Janhvi Kapoor, he was last spotted attending Ganga Aarti at the Dashaswamedh Ghat in Varanasi. The actor will be staying back in Varanasi as he begins shooting for his next film ‘ Bhul Chuk Maaf’ with Wamiqa Gabbi. The flick is backed by Dinesh Vijan and directed by Karan Sharma.
