KALYAN: A senior technician of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) died after falling from a pole while trying to repair the power supply following a complaint of a power outage due to rain in Ulhasnagar.
Ujjwal Ganerkar (38) was working as a Senior Technician in the Lalchakki Divisional Office in Ulhasnagar.
While performing repair work on the pole, the electricity suddenly resumed, causing him to be electrocuted and fall from the pole.
A police official said on Wednesday evening that upon receiving a complaint about a power outage in the Maratha section area, Ganerkar rushed to the spot to address the issue and climbed the pole.
Police said that while carrying out the repair work, Ganerkar fell from the pole and was rushed to the Central Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
A senior MSEDCL official stated that, as per the rules, his family will receive financial compensation and a job for a family member.
