Policeman’s Son Rams Woman With Speeding Car In Maharashtra’s Pimpri-Chinchwad

Weeks after the Pune Porsche car accident caught limelight for rash driving, a similar accident was reported in Maharashtra, where a policeman’s son knocked off a woman at a crossing in Pimpri-Chinchwad.
The incident unfolded on Wednesday where the driver, Vinay Vilas Naykere, grievously injured a woman after hitting her with his car, India Today said in a report.
The incident took place in the Bhosari area during the afternoon when the woman was crossing the road. The CCTV footage of the incident showed the car hitting the woman, who flung in the air and fell at a distance.
The woman was taken to a private hospital following the incident, where she is undergoing medical attention for her injuries.
After receiving a complaint from the woman’s brother, the police arrested the car’s driver, Vinay Vilas Naykere. He was charged under sections 279 (rash or negligent driving), 337 (causing hurt by negligent act), and other provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Motor Vehicle Act (MVA).
From the report, it has been revealed that Naykere was the son of a police official.

32-Year-Old Man Died In Road Accident
On May 23, another incident was reported where a 32-year-old youth died after he collided with the bike of a 15-year-old minor. The accident took place in the Mazgaon area of Mumbai.
The incident occurred when a 15-year-old boy hit the youth, identified as Irfan Nawab Ali Shaikh, with his bike. The collision left the latter badly injured. Irfan was rushed to the JJ hospital, however, he decalred death during treatment at the hospital.
The 15-year-old accused has been detained by the JJ Marg police. The father of the teen, Javed Shafiq Ahmed Sheikh, has also been detained by the police. The JJ Marg police has registered a case under section 304(2) of IPC and section 3,4 of the Motor Vehicle Act.
