Reflecting on his third consecutive election win from Varanasi, PM Modi expressed his profound connection with the constituency. “The people of Varanasi have not only chosen me as MP for a third time but also as prime minister,” he remarked, noting the considerable, albeit reduced, victory margin of 1,52,513 votes in the 2024 elections compared to nearly 4.8 lakh in 2019.

Prime Minister Modi emphasised the exceptional nature of the electoral mandate, calling it “truly unprecedented” and historic. He affirmed that the new government’s initial focus is on farmers and the underprivileged. “I consider farmers, women, the youth, and the poor strong pillars of ‘Viksit Bharat’,” he stated.
Acknowledging the divine blessings, PM Modi said, “With the blessings of Baba Vishwanath and Maa Ganga, and the immense love of the people of Kashi, I have got the privilege of becoming the country’s ‘pradhan sevak’ for the third time.” He emotionally added, “Now, it seems as if Mother Ganga has also adopted me, I have become one of this place.”
In his address, Modi underlined the critical role agriculture will play in elevating India to the third-largest economic power globally in the 21st century. After being sworn in, one of his first actions was authorising the release of the 17th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.
Highlighting the government’s achievements, he pointed to the construction of over three crore houses for poor families and the nationwide extension of the PM Kisan Samman scheme. “This victory gives huge confidence,” he said, crediting the public’s trust as his inspiration to tirelessly work towards fulfilling their dreams and aspirations. “I will work hard like this day and night, and will make every effort to fulfil your dreams and aspirations,” the Prime Minister pledged.
