NEW DELHI: Bihar chief minister and Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar, speaking at an NDA parliamentary meeting, took a swipe at the Congress-led INDIA opposition bloc, declaring his unwavering support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kumar said, “I will be with PM Modi at all times.”
At the meeting, Kumar expressed confidence in the future electoral success of the NDA, saying, “Next time when you come, the people who have won here and there this time will lose next time.We are fully confident about it, (‘Agli baar jab aap aaiye toh kuch log jo idhar udhar jeet gaya hai, agli baar sab haarega. Humko poora bharosa hai‘)” He criticized the opposition bloc, accusing them of failing to contribute anything meaningful to the country.
Kumar emphasized his party’s commitment to support PM Modi, highlighting the Prime Minister’s decade-long service to the nation and expressing optimism for his continued leadership. “Our party, Janata Dal (United), supports Narendra Modi for the post of India’s Prime Minister. It is a matter of great happiness that he has been the PM for the last 10 years and will become the PM again. He has served the country, and whatever is left, he will fulfill this time. We will be with him,” Kumar added.

Nitish, who recently distanced himself from the Congress-led INDIA opposition bloc—despite being instrumental in its formation to challenge Prime Minister Modi and the BJP—has criticized his former allies. Kumar remarked, “The opposition bloc has not contributed anything to the country… I will stand by the Prime Minister at all times.”
Following the 2024 Lok Sabha election, Nitish Kumar emerged as one of two key figures essential for the BJP to form and maintain the government, after the party fell short of the majority mark of 272 seats, securing only 240. Kumar’s party, the Janata Dal United (JDU), with its 12 Members of Parliament, along with the 16 MPs from Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP), will play a crucial role in supporting the BJP’s bid to govern.
