Cops quiz man on sample swap money trail | India News – Times of India

Cops are questioning Ashpaque Makandar, a liaison person, to find the source of Rs 3 lakh he handed to a grade-IV staffer of Sassoon Hospital to swap the blood sample of the minor involved in the May 19 crash. Police said Makandar functioned as a middleman between the minor’s father and hospital staff. He and his associate Amar Santosh Gaikwad (27) were arrested Tuesday.
A crime branch officer said, “Earlier we thought the cash was given to grade-IV staffer Atul Ghatkamble on the hospital premises.Now, it has been revealed that the cash was delivered to him at the Govt Observation Home for Boys in Yerawada on May 19.”
