LUCKNOW: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday took a jibe at the Congress saying its aim is to win just 50 seats so that it could save its ‘honour’.
Addressing a rally in Fatehpur, the PM said “I am going to tell you the inside story of the Congress: it is working on Mission 50, which means its target is to win just 50 seats,” the PM said.
INDA bloc has been defeated in the first four phases of elections and its “disappointed” leaders have now stopped coming out for poll-related activities.“INDIA alliance was akin to a vehicle with a flat tyre from Day 1,” he added.
Modi said he had predicted that Rahul Gandhi would not dare to contest from Amethi and this has turned out to be true.
The PM said two boys (Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav) come together after every few years in UP because they share similar traits such as nepotism, corruption, appeasement, protecting criminals and sympathising with terrorists.
Speaking in Hamirpur, the PM said Congress and Samajwadi Party would destroy the sanatan dharma. Adding that Akhilesh Yadav was a disappointment as the chief minister, Modi said benefits of PM Awas scheme could not be passed on to lakhs of eligible families in UP due to lax attitude of SP govt.
Accusing the Samajwadi Party and Congress alliance of minority appeasement, Modi told the gathering at Hamirpur, “Congress party would carry out assessment of your properties and assets. They would conduct an X-ray survey to find out how much land, houses, ornaments, mangal sutra and other assets you hold. Whatever they deem is excess with you, would be snatched away and handed over to the individuals indulging in vote jihad,” said the prime minister.
Attacking SP chief for not protecting the rights of the backwards, Modi pointed out rhat Akhilesh Yadav did not visit Aligarh or offered condolences to Kalyan Singh when he died. “Kalyan Singh sacrificed his govt for the Ram temple. If he (SP chief) had gone to pay his respect to him, his vote bank would have got upset. But when a mafia (Mukhtar Ansari) died, SP chief read fatiha,” he said.
Reminding the voters of Bundelkhand of the extreme water crisis the region had faced in the past, Modi said his govt is spending more than Rs 40,000 crore to provide water to every household in the parched region.
