Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina Along With Daughter Enjoys ‘Quick Bite’ Ahead Of PM’s Oath-Taking Ceremony

Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her daughter Saima Wazed shared a “quick bite” on Sunday before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony. The event, scheduled for Sunday evening, will mark Modi’s third consecutive term as India’s Prime Minister. 

Saima Wazed posted a photo on X, formerly Twitter, showing her and her mother enjoying a meal together. She captioned the photo: “A quick bite with Ma, ahead of Prime Minister @narendramodi’s inauguration in #Delhi later today”.

Narendra Modi was set to take the oath as India’s Prime Minister on Sunday evening, with the ceremony attended by leaders from many neighbouring countries. 

The swearing-in ceremony was expected to include notable attendees such as the President of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe, President of the Maldives Mohammed Muizzu, Vice President of Seychelles Ahmed Afif, Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar Juganauth, Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, and Prime Minister of Bhutan Tshering Tobgay. 

BJP MP-elect Giriraj Singh was present at the Rahtrapati Bhavan as well. 

In preparation for the swearing-in, the BJP worked on allocating Cabinet seats to its NDA partners, aiming to balance continuity with the introduction of new faces.

Senior party leaders such as Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goel, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Nirmala Sitharaman, and Mansukh Mandaviya attended Modi’s morning tea party, a tradition he has maintained before Cabinet formation since 2014.
