The Odisha government announced on Monday that all state government offices and courts in Bhubaneswar will close after 1 pm on June 12 due to the swearing-in ceremony of the new chief minister and council of ministers.

As per a notification from the revenue and disaster management department, this closure applies to all state government offices and revenue and magisterial courts (executive) within the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) area.

According to PTI, The new BJP government will be sworn in on June 12 at 5 pm. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to arrive at 2:30 pm and will proceed to Raj Bhavan from the airport before attending the oath-taking ceremony at Janata Maidan at 5 pm.

The BJP’s state unit has encouraged people to celebrate June 12 like Diwali by lighting at least two diyas (lamps) – one for the central government and another for the state government.

Balasore MP Pratap Sarangi emphasised that the two diyas represent the “double engine sarkar” (dual government) in the state.

Rahul Gandhi To Visit Wayanad On June 12

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is slated to visit Wayanad in Kerala on June 12, according to party sources on Monday.

This visit follows his significant victory in the Wayanad constituency in the recent Lok Sabha elections, where he defeated CPI candidate Annie Raja by a margin of 3,64,422 votes.

As per PTI, Gandhi’s visit comes amid speculation that he might vacate the Kerala seat to retain Raebareli, a Congress stronghold in Uttar Pradesh.

Due to Gandhi’s visit, the United Democratic Front has postponed a planned protest march to the state Assembly, originally scheduled for June 12, the UDF announced in a statement on Monday.
