3 security personnel injured in encounter in J&K’s Doda district | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Three security personnel sustained injuries in an exchange of fire between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir‘s Doda district, after an attack on a joint checkpost. Police and security forces are also engaged in an operation to apprehend a terrorist hiding in Seda Sohal village, Kathua district, following an attack near the International Border that left one civilian injured and a terrorist dead.
In Doda, the exchange of fire occurred at a joint checkpost manned by the 4 Rashtriya Rifles and police on the Bhadarwah-Pathankot road late Tuesday night.The injured security personnel were hospitalized, and the gunfight continued as of the latest reports. Reinforcements have been deployed to intensify the operation.
Meanwhile, in Kathua district, security forces, including the police and CRPF, have cordoned off Seda Sohal village and are conducting a house-to-house search to locate the hiding terrorist. Security forces killed a terrorist in a shootout late Tuesday evening after a group of three gunmen threw a grenade and fired gunshots at a house in Seda Sohal village of Hiranagar tehsil in J&K’s Kathua district, critically injuring two villagers.
These incidents occurred amidst heightened tensions following the attack on a bus carrying Shiv Khori temple pilgrims to Katra in Reasi on Sunday, which resulted in nine fatalities and 41 injuries when the bus veered off the road and plunged into a deep gorge.
