Apple WWDC 2024 iOS 18 Supported Compatible Models iPhones Features Update
[ad_1]
A reliable tipster on X, formerly Twitter, known for accurately sharing iOS build numbers, posted ahead of Apple WWDC 2024 conference that iOS 18 will support the same iPhone models as iOS 17. The Cupertino-based tech giant is likely to unveil the much-anticipated iOS 18 at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on Monday, June 10. The update is expected to be introduced to all compatible iPhones in September, with the launch of the purported iPhone 16 series.
Notably, iOS 18 will introduce an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven transformation of the iPhone operating system, called “Apple Intelligence.” However, some of these advanced features may not be available on older iPhone models, the tipster noted.
According to the same source, as spotted by MacRumors, iPadOS 18 will no longer support the 10.5-inch iPad Pro and the second-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro, both of which run on the A10X Fusion chip. Additionally, the sixth-generation iPad will be dropped from the compatibility list, even as the seventh-generation iPad will continue to receive support.

This year, however, the emphasis at WWDC is expected to shift from hardware to software, with significant announcements around iOS 18 and generative AI. Previous reports suggest that Apple is likely to completely skip hardware announcement at this year’s edition of WWDC conference. Apple is set to kick off WWDC 2024 with a keynote event on Monday at 10:00 AM Pacific Time and 10:30 PM IST to reveal its new software. For those who can’t catch the live stream or prefer written updates, we, at ABP Live, are running a live blog for real-time updates.
