MUMBAI: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Saturday alleged that the BMC spent Rs 3.56 crore on PM Narendra Modi’s road show in Ghatkopar on Wednesday. Raut said BMC has spent Rs 3.56 crore which is a breach of the model code of conduct. Raut said a case should be registered against BJP’s Narendra Modi for that or Rs 3.56 crore must be recovered from the BJP.
“Modi did a road show. This was the BJP’s private event and part of BJP’s campaign. So money should have been spent by BJP or Modi’s personal account. But BMC spent Rs 3.56 crore for this road show. This was done for BJP. This is clearly a breach of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). I don’t call him Prime Minister. BJP’s star campaigner Narendra Modi should be booked or Rs 3.56 crore should be recovered from the candidate of the constituency in which the road show was held. This is looting of the coffers of the BMC,” Raut said.
PM Narendra Modi held a roadshow in Ghatkopar on Wednesday. The roadshow covered a 2.5 km distance from Shreyas Cinema on LBS Marg to Gandhi Market.
“PM Modi comes to Mumbai and does road shows and shuts down Mumbai. What’s going on in Mumbai… you come and go but Mumbaikars don’t want to be fooled. They even shut down Mumbai when Yogi (Adityanath), this is not fair. It is a very serious crime which is burdening Mumbai’s exchequer. The money for Modi’s Mumbai road show should be recovered immediately and the Election Commission (EC) and the BMC commissioner should bring before the public the action taken in this regard,” Raut said.
Raut also hit out at the BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis visit to Mulund after an alleged attack on BJP’s Mumbai North East Mumbai candidate Mihir Kotecha’s war room. “Devendra Fadnavis is the chief of thieves. Illegal stocks of injections were caught in Vile Parle during Covid-19. Devendra Fadnavis himself went to the police station and created a ruckus to save those counterfeiting or black marketing. Devendra Fadnavis is there wherever there is theft and counterfeiting,” Raut said.
