‘PM Modi will lead till 2029’: Amit Shah slams Arvind Kejriwal’s retirement prediction | India News

NEW DELHI: Home minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will “lead the country till 2029” and there is “no confusion in the party regarding this matter”.
Shah was reacting to allegations made by Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, who gave his first poll speech on Saturday, a day after getting interim bail till June 1.
Kejriwal said that in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will not secure a majority. “In the last 20 hours after release from jail, I talked to poll experts and people and got to know the BJP is not going to form the government,” said the Delhi CM.
“These people ask the INDIA bloc about their face. I ask BJP who will be their PM? Modi ji is turning 75 on September 17 next year. He had made the rule that people aged 75 will be retired. They retired LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Sumitra Mahajan,” said CM Kejriwal.
“PM Modi will retire next year. He is seeking votes for making Amit Shah the prime minister. Will Shah fulfill Modiji”s guarantee?” he asked.

No good news for INDIA, says Shah

Soon after Kejriwal’s remark, Amit Shah retorted to his claims, saying, “Nothing as such is mentioned in BJP’s constitution”.
“I want to say this to Arvind Kejriwal and company and INDI alliance that nothing as such is mentioned in BJP’s constitution. PM Modi is only going to complete this tenure and PM Modi will continue to lead the country in future. There is no confusion in BJP,” said ex-BJP chief Amit Shah.
“The people of this country, be it from East, West, North, South or Northeast, they are standing with Modi. All the leaders of the INDI alliance know that we are going to cross 400 seats and Modi ji will become the PM of this country for the third time, that is why they are spreading this type of misconception. I want to clarify that there is no such provision in BJP’s constitution and Modi ji will lead the country till 2029 and Modi ji will also lead the coming elections. There is no good news for INDI alliance…They cannot win elections by spreading such lies,” Shah added.

Opposition has nothing to be happy about: Nadda

BJP president JP Nadda, in a post on X, also slammed the Delhi CM for his remarks. “Kejriwal and the entire INDI alliance have panicked after realising their failure in the elections. Their aim is to mislead and confuse the country. Modi Ji is getting the immense blessings of the people from East to West, North to South. They have neither any policy nor any program in front of the Prime Minister. Now they are looking for a way out by making an excuse of Modi Ji’s age. There is no such provision regarding age anywhere in the constitution of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The public knows that every bit and every moment of Modiji is dedicated to the service of Mother India. The vision of ‘Developed India’ is becoming a reality under the leadership of Modiji and in his next 5 years of tenure, Modiji will take the country to new heights. The opposition should not be happy, it should not have any illusions. Modiji is our leader and will continue to lead us in future too. INDI alliance and the leader who came out of jail on bail also knows that ‘Modi will come, Modi will stay, Modi will make India strong,” said Nadda.
Meanwhile, BJP MP and party’s national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi took a potshot at Kejriwal for his statement on PM’s retirement.
“We would like to say one thing whether it was the effect of his alcohol or the place he had gone to. One thing came out of his [Kejriwal’s] mouth correctly. He said that PM Modi would become the Prime Minister and after that so and so would be made the Prime Minister. For this, I want to thank him that today he has accepted that Narendra Modi is going to become the Prime Minister of India again. Sometimes a person does not have complete control after drinking alcohol, then the right thing comes out. Not only this, he also started telling the succession plan about who would remain after PM Modi.”
