HYDERABAD: Union home minister Amit Shah on Saturday remarked that by posting a fake and fabricated video of his on social media, chief minister A Revanth Reddy had touched a ‘raw nerve’ and invited trouble on himself.
“You have meddled with the wrong person. Now the Delhi police are after you for circulating a fabricated and edited video of mine and that is giving you a scare,” Amit Shah said about Revanth Reddy.
Addressing an election meeting to campaign for BJP’s Chevella Lok Sabha seat candidate Konda Vishweshwar Reddy on Saturday, Amit Shah said only the NDA govt at the seat can protect the country against terrorism.
“People ask why would Telangana be interested in what is happening in Jammu and Kashmir? They are interested because they are connected. Youth from Telangana serve in the army to protect the country’s borders. So whatever the govt decides is in the best interest of Telangana people too,” he said.
Charging the Congress party with being a corrupt party, he said the Congress govt led by Revanth Reddy in Telangana had become an ATM for the Congress party. “This is the ‘RR’ (Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy) tax that we are talking about.
Urging the people to get at least 10 out of 17 seats for the BJP in Telangana, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will serve for a third term and would take forward more initiatives. Amit Shah charged that the Congress-BRS-MIM were all hand-in-glove, he said it was precisely for the Muslim votes that the Congress was opposing celebration of Hindu festivals.
“Why is September 17 not officially observed as Hyderabad Liberation Day? They do not want to annoy Muslims, who they want to protect as their vote bank,” Amit Shah said.
The union home minister questioned, in an imaginary scenario, who would become the Prime Minister if parties other than the NDA came to power whereas from the NDA it would be Modi himself.
Amit Shah remarked that whenever the temperatures increased in the country, Rahul Gandhi would take a holiday and go to Bangkok. “But Modi never takes a holiday and even spends Diwali with soldiers,” he said.
