BAREILLY: Six people, including three employees of a private sector bank, lost their lives while 20 sustained injuries in two separate road accidents in Moradabad and Sambhal districts, police said on Monday, report Asif Ansari and Muskan Cornelius.
A speeding SUV collided with a truck in Kundarki area of Moradabad district on Monday, leading to death of three Lucknow residents employed with Axis Bank in Moradabad.The car veered off course when the driver tried to avoid hitting a monkey that had suddenly appeared. Police said two people died on the spot, while one succumbed to injuries in the hospital.
In a separate incident, three people died while 20 others sustained injuries in a collision between a speeding tractor-trolley and a canter near Deeppur Danda village in Sambhal on Sunday night. Rescue operation is still on.
Senior officials, including Sambhal district magistrate Manish Bansal and superintendent of police Kuldeep Singh Gunawat, reached the spot and deployed medical teams to provide treatment at the community health centre, with serious cases transferred to the district joint hospital. Gunawat said, “The deceased are Ghasiram, 60, Mahipal, 54, and Gumani, 42. The 20 injured individuals were seated in the trolley. We will take appropriate action against the driver.”
