NEW DELHI: Barpeta Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 14 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies in the state of Assam. It is composed of several assembly segments including Abhayapuri, Bongaigaon, Bhowanipur–Sorbhog, Barpeta, Pakabetbari, Bajali, Hajo–Sualkuchi, Barkhetri, Nalbari and Tihu.

In the 2019 parliamentary elections, the Barpeta constituency had a total of 1,685,149 electors.Abdul Khaleque, the candidate from the Indian National Congress (INC), emerged victorious with a total of 645,173 votes. Kumar Deepak Das, representing the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), secured the second position with 504,866 votes, falling short by 140,307 votes.

The Barpeta Lok Sabha constituency is scheduled to vote on May 7 2024, with the Election Commission announcing results on 4th June, as per their statement on March 16.
In the first phase of polls, Assam recorded a voter turnout of 75.95% across five parliamentary constituencies in the state, and in the second phase of polling for five Lok Sabha constituencies, the voter turnout stood at 81.17%.
